Don't forget to visit b.vikki vintage on Etsy!
- In a few days, I will post a sneak peak of the items for sale. They will be displayed limp, on hangers (probably mostly wire hangers! I know, I know... Unless before the close of the day I can secure some higher quality hangers). Product descriptions, including details like fabric composition, size, measurements, brand, etc will be included.
- In the next week, I will post a follow-up sneak peak of the items displayed on dress forms: a bit better than hangers, but dress forms don't give the true feel of how clothing hangs on the human body.
- Sizing *back then* was a lot different than it is now. So, though a tag may say an item is a size 8, in today's sizing, it will be closer to a 6. So measurements of all garments will be posted with items.
- I publicized my need for fitting models, and I've gotten well over 50 responses. The thing is, I only need 2 models. One for the larger garments and one for the smaller garments. I'm considering holding an invite-only casting call (comprised of all those who've responded) to meet each girl and see who fits best into the garments and choosing them that way. There's no way to select two models online because though the young ladies may all have beautiful pictures, I can't tell how they'd look in the garments via the internet.
- Once I finally select the models, b.vikki vintage will be open for business.
Hopefully, this won't take over 2 weeks. I've been researching this project for months, and I'm giddy with anticipation for the launch of b.vikki vintage.
In the meantime, enjoy the vintage ads, found photos, and fashion editorials from the 50s and early 60s - and the online shop will be up in no time flat!
